YEAR ROUND POSITIONS ONLY

GUEST SERVICES ATTENDANT - EVENINGS AND WEEKENDS

Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation is seeking customer focused people to cheerfully greet customers and deliver exemplary service to each guest, research and provide timely and accurate information to all guests and staff, sell, process and troubleshoot membership accounts, and properly handle monies and financial transactions.  Must be able to work some weekend shift(s).  

Requirements:  Some college and hospitality, service, sales experience preferred.  Must have or obtain CPR certification within 30 days of employment.

Pay:  Starting pay is $8.00 per hour based on experience.

BUILDING SERVICES ATTENDANT

Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation is seeking detailed oriented individuals to perform custodial work  to ensure a clean and safe environment for the enjoyment of our community and customers.  Duties include performing all general cleaning and basic maintenance functions in and around the community center facility such as vacuum, mop, wax and shampoo floors, dust and polish furnishings and fixtures, clean and deodorize restrooms, pick up and empty trash.

Requirements:  Must be 18 years or older.  Previous custodial work preferred.  Must be able to lift 15 lbs

Hours:  Male needed for  Friday  – Saturday      10 p.m. – 6 a.m.  (15 hours)

              Male needed for  Tuesday – Thursday  3 p.m. – 11 p.m.  (22.5 hours)

              Male needed for  Sunday  – Tuesday     7 a.m. -3 p.m.     (22.5 hours)

              Female needed for Friday – Sunday       3 p.m. – 11 p.m. (22.5 hours)

Pay:  Starting pay is $9.00 per hour based on experience.

EXTENDED SCHOOL ENRICHMENT FACILITATOR

Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation is seeking creative and energetic facilitators for our before and after school program.  Extended School Enrichment (ESE)is looking for individuals who have a passion for science, art, sports, education, and most importantly, children.  Facilitators will be responsible for daily programming, academic assistance and supervision of students.  ESE positions are available at each of the 11 Carmel Clay Elementary Schools. 

Requirements:  Will need to be CPR and First Aid certified within 60 days of employment and stay current throughout the 2010-2011 school year.  Previous experience with youth preferred. 

Hours:  Shifts are either or both       Monday – Friday 6:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m.

                                                          Monday -  Friday 1:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

 Some variations of these schedules are available. 

 Pay:  Starting pay is $8.00 per hour based on experience.

SWIM LESSON INSTRUCTOR (MUST HAVE WSI CERTIFICATION PRIOR TO HIRE)

Instructing swim lessons and promoting safety in swimming. 

Requirements:  Must be 16 years or older.  Must have the following certifications:  CPR, First Aid, AED and American  Red Cross Water Safety Instructor.  Must be able to swim the following strokes a minimum of 25 yards: front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, sidestroke and elementary backstroke.  Must be able to swim the butterfly 15 yards. 

Pay:  Starting pay is $8.25 per hour based on experience.

ADAPTIVE SWIM LESSON INSTRUCTOR

Instructing swim lessons and promoting safety in swimming for individuals with disabilities. 

Requirements:  Must be 16 years or older and have experience working with individuals with disabilities.  Must have the following certifications:  CPR, First Aid, and AED.  Must be able to swim the following strokes a minimum of 25 yards: front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, sidestroke and elementary backstroke.  Must be able to swim the butterfly 15 yards. 

Pay:  Starting pay is $9.00 per hour based on experience.

FITNESS ATTENDANT, EVENINGS AND WEEKENDS

This position serves as point of contact for all guests using the Fitness Center.  Seeking energetic and detail oriented individuals with exceptional guest relations skills to monitor the fitness center floor, enforce regulations regarding equipment usage and to respond to guests regarding their fitness center concerns.  Will be trained on the Fitlinxx system and will work directly with guests to set them up with Fitlinxx.

Requirements/qualifications:  Must be at least 16 years of age.  Must possess CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications.  Must have knowledge/background in fitness.  Familiarity with the Fitlinxx system preferred.  Must be able to work days, evenings, and weekends.  Ability to exert moderate physical activity and engage in cleaning of equipment and work areas in order to maintain professional appearance of the fitness center.

Pay:  Starting at $8.00 per hour

YOUTH AND PRESCHOOL SPORTS INSTRUCTOR

Instructor needed to teach start smart sports development and start smart baseball on Wednesdays from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Instructor needed to teach home school open gym on Monday from 9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

These instructors will teach children from 3 – 5 years for preschool and 6 – 12 years for youth

Requirements:  Must be at least 18 years of age.  Must possess CPR within 30 days of employment.  Previous experience with youth and various sports preferred.

Pay:  Starting at $8.00 or more per hour based on experience

 ART INSTRUCTOR

Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation seeks an Art program instructor able to teach art classes for ages 6-adult.  Desired mediums for the instructor to be comfortable/experienced in are watercolor, ink drawing, pencil drawing, calligraphy, acrylic painting, photography.  Desire an employee with flexible day hours and nights available. 

Requirements:  Must be at least 18 years of age.  Previous experience instructing preferred.

Pay:  Starting at $12.00 or more per hour based on experience

INCLUSION INSTRUCTOR    

To assist and/or lead adaptive programs for individuals with disabilities in a community setting. Programs may include but are not limited to: sports, fitness, arts/culture, social enrichment and special events. Must be familiar with a variety of disabilities, be able to manage behaviors, and must be able to modify a program based on the needs of the participants. Must be aware of the rules and regulations set by the ADA.

Requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have the following certifications: CPR, First-Aid, AED (classes available if needed). Must have at least 1 year experience working with individuals with a disability. Must be willing to work nights and weekends if needed.

Pay: Starting at $12/per hour
