Unfortunately, we had to say farewell to one of our ESE facilitators here at Cherry Tree. Miss Gilbert had her last day on Friday, April 23rd. She was such a great person to have on staff in our program, and the students loved her. She will be missed.

While she was working with ESE, she was also doing her internship with the Indiana School for the Deaf. She has completed her internship and is heading back home to Florida for the summer before returning to finish her degree at Ball State University. We have been so blessed to have her for the time we did. Good luck Miss Gilbert with all of your future plans, you will be missed!

May is here, and the end of the year is coming up quickly! We have some major events planned for all of the ESE students and families this month.

We are having a site celebration on Friday, May 7 at Cherry Tree. The event will be from 5:00-7:00. We will be grilling hot dogs, listening to a DJ spin some tunes, bouncing in the bounce house, and playing different picnic games. It is sure to be blast. Pick up a flyer with the info at our sign out table and RSVP for this fantastic event!

We also have a parent’s night out coming up on Friday, May 21. This is a great opportunity for parents to get some things done or just enjoy some extra time to yourself. We will be open until 8:00pm at no additional charge. We will be feeding the students dinner (pizza) and watching the movie The Tooth Fairy. You can pick up a flyer for this event at the sign out table, and please be sure to RSVP.

Finally, May 27 is the last day of school. This day is an early dismissal for the students. They will be getting out at 10:50. ESE will be available from the time that they get out of school until 6:00pm. We will be taking a field trip to Connor Prairie on this day from 12:00-4:45. Your child will need a lunch, water bottle, and sunscreen for the field trip. If your child normally attends ESE, but you plan on having them go home on the last day of school, please inform the Site Supervisor or Assistant Site Supervisor so that we know who to expect on that day.
