Nature Art

In the Nature Art club, students learn how to create art with things from outside. Taking advantage of the beautiful weather, we travel outside and find different objects to use in our art. For example, Nature Artists do leaf prints (putting the leaves under a piece of paper and coloring over it, creating a cool leaf design), create a collage out of various items in nature, make wooden picture frames out of mulch, color with chalk on the sidewalks, and much more! This club helps the students become more aware of the nature that is around them, and they appreciate the beauty they can find right outside their doors.

T-Ball

During the T-ball club, the children learned the fundamentals of our nation’s pastime. The children were first shown the nine different defensive positions in baseball and the role they play. After identifying the nine positions, the children had the chance to learn the difference between a fly ball and a ground ball. The children were very excited and wanted to get started right away. After learning the basics, the children were divided up into two teams. They were each given a different position to play. Once the game started, the children really started to take heed to the game and their roles on the team. I really think a lot of the children captured the essence of the game and how fun it can really be.
