Q: Where did you grow up?
A: Carmel, Indiana

Q: What elementary school did you attend?
A: K-2 at College Wood, 3-5 at Orchard Park

Q: What is one of your favorite memories from elementary school?
A: The 5th grade talent show. My friends and I made up a song about our teachers, and moving on to Junior High. Everyone loved it!

Q: What was your favorite subject in elementary school and why?
A: Math!  I was so good at it. We played this game called Around the World and I always won.

Q: Why did you decide to work in the before and after school setting?
A: I love kids! I started in high school and really enjoyed my job. I feel very lucky that I am able to make a career out of something I love doing. I love my job!

Q: What do you enjoy most about your job?
A: I love the funny things that kids say, and the random questions they ask daily. Knowing that I am making a positive impact on the life of a child makes me smile at the end of the day.

Q: What unique skills/talents do you apply to your job?
A: People skills. I love talking to people, especially my ESE parents!

Q: How do you handle a “bad” day?
A: Go home and get lots of love from my two dogs, and remember that tomorrow will be a better one!

Q: What do you hope Extended School Enrichment students take away from the program?
A: I want them to have fun and make new friends. I love it when I hear from the parents that their kids want to be picked up later.

Q: Why/how do you think Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation is making a positive impact in the elementary schools?
A: The program has a very positive surrounding. We follow our RICHER principles and the kids enjoy the RICHER Right Ups that are given on Fridays. It is nice for parents knowing that there is a safe place for their children to be while they are at work.

Q: What is your favorite quote/saying?
A: Smile, they are free!
