I am truly saddened at having to write this article. Mr. Whiteley, our Assistant Site Supervisor, will be leaving us at the end of the end of April. He will be returning to his home in Oregon. James is an integral part to the success of this program and has been from the very beginning.
The fact that James is well liked and respected by children, peers and parents alike, makes it difficult for us to say good-bye. I know that James will be successful at whatever he undertakes, so I am not concerned about his welfare, only jealous that another parks department will make use of his many fine qualities.
From the start of the school year, I have always addressed him as Mr. Whiteley or James, because I felt it was more professional, but now in a demonstration of my profound respect and admiration for his friendship and outstanding work ethic I say good-bye and best wishes, Jimmy.
