The students at Woodbrook Elementary grades 3-5 are so excited about becoming Jr. Facilitators! The students must sign up for the club at the beginning of the 8 weeks and attend each day thereafter. In this club, the students will learn a deeper meaning of the RICHER principles. They will work on leadership skills and improve themselves as human beings. Students will be required to answer a variety of questions asked by Miss Davis. Upon completing the class students are given a badge, and then are expected to help out with clubs, homework and other activities. The Jr. Facilitators are given the choice of if they want to work or play. When they are not wearing the badge they are considered a regular student in the program, but they know that as soon as the badge goes on, they join the team and must be helping out!

Have you ever wondered how to make butter or create plastic out of milk? Well, here at Woodbrook Elementary, we have been busy in our laboratories answering these very questions. Students enjoyed discovering many new things in Science Works every week. The biggest hit of the club was making butter. Students shook their own container full of heavy cream until it was thick enough to spread! We also had fun doing lots of experiments with food coloring and various household items. Did you know that if you put food coloring in oil it doesn’t change the color? This was one of the many experiments we did with food coloring. To finish off the eight weeks we kicked back and watched our favorite scientist in action, Bill Nye the Science Guy!
