Woodbrook children have talent! Each week they sing their hearts out to different genres of music. One week it was High School Musical, another week it was 80’s music and another was Disney Princesses!

This is not an easy task. The students must read along with the TV for the lyrics. An activity such as this is entertaining as well as educational. It will help with their recognition of words while they are having a great time.

Sometimes the students sing along with the student holding the microphone. It takes a lot of courage to perform among your peers. They also learn how older genres music influenced today’s musical artists. So…Say What…Karaoke!? Yes we are singing our hearts out here at Woodbrook!

Recently we made a group purchase of Jumbo Games with two schools. What a GREAT idea!! It is finally our turn and the children LOVE IT!! All of the games are jumbo sized. When they saw the games they were like….”WOW! These games are HUGE!” This of course, in your most excited child voice.

There are jumbo cards, chess, checkers, tic, tac toe, building blocks and the list goes on. The students lay the games out on the ground and play. Sometimes the parents even stop to play for a little while with the children. I think the children really enjoy playing with the huge pieces because it is easier to move and see the pieces. They all take turns playing when it comes to games with only two players. They wait patiently for their turn…no fights or arguments. They do a quick game of rock, paper scissors to see who plays first. You should come check us out on Mondays from 4:50pm-5:30pm!
