Guest Services Attendant
Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation is seeking customer focused people to cheerfully greet customers from around our community and deliver exemplary service to each guest, research and provide timely and accurate information to all guests and staff, sell, process and troubleshoot membership accounts, and properly handle monies and financial transactions. Must be able to work some weekend shift(s). Advancement opportunities to sales or operations leadership position, with raise, based on outstanding performance as an attendant. 20-32 hours average per week. High school diploma required, some college and hospitality, service, sales experience preferred.
The Monon Community Center is a family community center with fitness, indoor aquatics, banquet halls and gyms. It is open Monday - Friday 5 a.m. - 10 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday reduced hours.
Must have or obtain CPR certification within 30 days of employment.
Pay: Starting pay is $8.00 per hour based on experience.
Kidzone Attendant Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation is looking for child focused people to work in our Kidzone by watching children, engaging in activities with the children and ensuring their safety. Children are watched by our Kidzone Attendants while parents utilize the Monon Community Center. Kidzone hours of operation are Monday - Saturday 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. - 8 p.m.
You must be at least 16 years old and able to work at least 15 hours weekly. Previous child care experience a plus. Must have or obtain CPR certification within 30 days of employment.
Pay: Starting pay is $8.00 per hour based on experience.
Building Services Attendant Seeking detailed oriented individuals to perform custodial work and set-up equipment in the department's recreation facilities to ensure a clean and safe environment for the enjoyment of our community and customers. Duties include performing all general cleaning and basic maintenance functions in and around park facilities; vacuum, mop, wax and shampoo floors; dust and polish furnishings and fixtures; clean and deodorize restrooms; pick up and empty trash. Other duties include arrange rooms as directed, remove snow on walkways, and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements: Must be 18 years or older. Must have or obtain CPR/First Aid certification. Previous custodial work preferred.
Male needed for Saturday - Tuesday 10 p.m. - 6 a.m.
Male needed for Tuesday - Thursday 3 p.m. - 11 p.m.
Male needed for Friday and Saturday 10 p.m. - 6 a.m.
Female needed Friday - Sunday 3 p.m. - 11 p.m.

Extended School Enrichment Facilitator, Part-Time (Starting in August 2010) Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation is seeking creative and energetic facilitators for our before-and-after-school program, Extended School Enrichment (ESE). We are looking for individuals who have a passion for science, art, sports, education, and, most importantly, children. Facilitators will be responsible for daily programming, academic assistance and supervision of students. ESE positions are available at each of the 11 Carmel Clay Elementary Schools.
Requirements: Will need to be CPR and First Aid certified and current throughout the 2009-10 school year. Previous experience with youth preferred.
Pay: $8-$9.50/hour

Swim Lesson Instructor, Part-Time (Must have WSI Certification prior to hire) To assist overall program of the Waterpark by instructing swim lessons and promoting safety in swimming to ensure a safe and clean environment for the enjoyment of patrons.
Requirements: Must be at least 16-years-old. Must have the following certifications: CPR, First Aid, AED and American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor. Must be able to swim the following strokes a minimum of 25 yards: front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, sidestroke and elementary backstroke. Must be able to swim butterfly 15 yards.
Pay: Starting at $8.25 per hour

Adaptive Swim Lesson Instructor, Part-Time (Must have WSI Certification prior to hire) To assist the Monon Community Center by planning and instructing adaptive swim lessons for individuals with disabilities while promoting safety in swimming to ensure a safe and clean environment of patrons.
Requirements: Must be at least 16-years-old and have experience working with individuals with disabilities. Must be certified in: CPR, First Aid, AED and American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor.
