Inlow Park Playground Redevelopment Project

Originally installed in two phases between 2000 and 2001, the existing play structures at Inlow Park are at the end of the anticipated 15-20 year lifecycle for commercial playgrounds. As one of the oldest playgrounds in the park system, the predominately wooden structures are not in compliance with the Americans with Disability Act, as identified in the 2015 ADA Accessibility Audit and Transition Plan. The 2015-2019 Parks and Recreation Master Plan recommended replacement of the playground in 2017.

While respecting the original design intent of the park, new plans will consider the reorganization of spaces within the park to enhance visibility of the playground and provide a better relationship between the playground, splash pad and parking area for the safety and enjoyment of park users. Construction on the playground portion is anticipated to begin in July 2018. An upgraded splash pad is included in phase II of the project and is anticipated to begin sometime in 2018/2019.
